January 18th Meeting

MEMBERS PRESENT: 12

Debbie called meeting to order at 12:05 pm and distributed calendars for January, February and March.

Committee for Stokes County Arts Council Theater dinner will meet after meeting to discuss menu, decorations etc. The club receives $9 from each ticket sold. The Senior Center holds 75 people. The play is Brown Versus the Board of Education.

Homer Deering is the interim town manager, Debbie said the park project will be ongoing.
Chuck spoke about International High school students wanting to come to the USA for vacation. If the club is interested, we can get students from the country of our choice. They come for a period of three weeks. Julie will contact Bob Newton for details.

Golf tournament- it is hoped to get date sometime in June again, one or two days. Debbie will check with golf course.

RayAnn has attended three meetings. Debbie proposed she be voted a member, Danny seconded, passed unanimously. David will have attended three meetings, Debbie proposed he be voted as member, seconded by Candace, voted unanimously. They will be sworn in at the next meeting. Debbie will see if incoming District Governor can come.

There being no further business, Candace proposed the meeting adjourn, seconded by Danny, meeting adjourned at 12:45 pm.

January 11th Meeting

Debbie called meeting to order at 12:05 pm.

Treasurer’s Report: $4,821.22 in bank. Dues are due this month.

Debbie reported she had an appointment at the Middle School next Tuesday to discuss Interact.

The club will be catering dinner at the Senior Center for Stokes County Arts Council Theater series. Date to be Friday, March 9, 2007. Hospitality Committee- Betty Jo, Julie, Judy and Danny will meet to decide on menu.

John Hodgkin has agreed to be President Elect Elect. Application form and check to be sent to District.

Debbie thanked Pete, Danny and Richard for taking down the Christmas decorations.

The club will need to start on golf tournament in February. Committee - Candace, Wendell, John, Marian and Karen.

Candace distributed 50/50 raffle books. Raffle to be drawn on April 7 at Easter Egg hunt.

January 4th, 2007 Meeting

Debbie called meeting to order at 12:05 and introduced guests.

Members will take down Main Street Christmas decorations on Tuesday, January 9 at 4 pm.

Copies of the “Rotary Against Drugs” speech contest for High School students are available.

Interact still ongoing.

50/50 raffle will take place April 8, Candace will have tickets available at next meeting.

President Elect -Elect is still needed.

Golf tournament - a committee needs to be appointed. Photo contest, club will see if we have a photo we can submit.

Janice Spencer and Patty St. Hilaire gave an interesting talk about the toy program they do every year for needy families in the 100% poverty level with an income of $12,000 per year, strictly on a voluntary basis. It is not only toys, but clothes, cash and food. 575 children received toys this year.

Janice and Patty were asked to return at another time with more programs concerning other services D.S.S provides.

December 28th 2006 Meeting

Minutes of meeting held Thursday, December 28, 2006

MEMBERS PRESENT: 11

Debbie called meeting to order at 12:05 pm. Information is available for the 2007

Rotary Against Drugs High School speech contest.

The club has received $149 from the 50/50 and no pin fine.

A President -Elect is needed for 2008 and two new members to replace Bonnie Snyder and Nelson Smith.

Interact Club - Debbie will meet with school principal.

The park project is still in the works but on hold at the present time due to Town manager and interim manager leaving.

The club is hoping to be involved in the group exchange from Scotland.
Club will hold 50/50 raffle in January.


Treasurer’s report: $4795. Rotary International semi-annual dues are due.

The club will be hosting golf tournament again next year and the Stokes County Arts Theatre.

Wendell will have program for next week.
